T219 | Coal Scuttle
Mid 19th-century English coal scuttle. Originally used to store coal near the fireplace for immediate access, this could still be used in the same way today. The black painted tin siding has an aged patina due to the object's history of use. Charming decorative accents, such as the lid's floriated finial handle and the base's small claw feet make this piece unique.
England, circa 1860
