Tactile Elegance: Across the Santa Monica studio of Tim Clarke Design

Stepping into the space at Tim Clarke Design offers an immersive look at how historic architectural elements, fine art, and raw textures can live together in a single space. Every corner is meticulously layered, creating moments where rustic patinas balance against clean modern forms, showcasing a harmonious dialogue between historic depth and contemporary artistry.

In the expansive gallery view, sculptural wood figures sit gracefully on white plinths, while a rich, marbled panel and sweeping sheer drapes frame the light. Dining seating with curved wooden backs surrounds an inviting table, while a tall, geometric wooden chair commands attention in the foreground. A towering wooden high-back chair adds structural drama nearby, bringing the organic warmth of exposed wood grain into conversation with the sculptural art and sheer drapery in the background.

THE CURATED CONSOLE VIGNETTE

Anchoring the main wall is a commanding antique wooden console, its deep, warm wood tones providing a sturdy foundation for an expressive arrangement of decorative artifacts. Atop the surface, earthy ceramic vessels, ranging from weathered terracotta urns with rustic glazes to an intricately patterned glazed bowl.

Arranged directly above the console, a balanced grid of four abstract oil paintings in luminous mossy greens from the french artist Lucien Bénière, ochre golds, and rich earth tones draws the eye upward, unifying the canvas art with the tactile ceramic and glass vessels stored beneath.
