Dutch 1940s unsigned abstract oil painting. Tempestuous and energetic, with a painterly quality related to Chagall and Der Blaue Reiter. A wonderful example of early Dutch Abstract Expressionism with a rich moody color palette of inky blues, creamy yellows, and rusty browns. Mysterious yet visceral.
