The country elegance of this bedroom by James Ford Huniford featured in Elle Decor in 2015 is timeless. At this farmhouse in Woodstock, New York, James chose a beautiful Sheraton field bed to fill the high ceilings of this room. I like the old world feeling this gives to the room, alongside the various portraits and landscape paintings. It's like a good dream.

As an antiquarian, I've had the opportunity to travel throughout the globe shopping for treasures. The English Countryside is always a favorite destination of mine. Great properties such as The Goodwood Estate in West Sussex and The Pennard House in Somerset offer a grand but humble opportunity to experience the British country lifestyle. I find that The Future Kept has done a beautiful job capturing the natural ease of the English country lifestyle in their journal entries.

Amongst the many titles that he has accumulated throughout his lifetime - photographer, fashion design, hair stylist perfume creator - Serge Lutens has also added interior designer to his accolades. Well known for being a creative, he's a well renowned lover of all things beautiful.

Pictured here is one of the many salons from his home in Marrakech. The layering and well precise placement of frames fully embraces the "more is more" approach of design which we a fan of.

Juan Pablo Molyneuax Gallery

The classical period of design pertains to the ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian styles of design. This was extended to both the arts and architecture as well.

Here we see the influence of that period in the french chateau of designer Juan Pablo Molyneux. His sculpture gallery displays reliefs, casts, a beautiful chandelier (designed by Molyneux himself) and an exquisite plastered ceiling.
