Laureen Rossouw bought a converted office space in Cape Town’s business district a decade ago—“wanting to create the sense of an old-fashioned train-station waiting room.” A favorite piece is a vintage early-1900s station clock fixed to the side of a bookcase. Over time she layered vintage and antique finds into the apartment’s Art Deco bones: antique stools and books beside a ’70s sideboard and sofa—two languages that complement each other when edited with care.

Laureen’s home is a smart example of mixing antiques with a seemingly opposite style—and still landing on something sophisticated and deeply personal.
