AK105 | BOUILLOTTE LAMP
Late 19th-century French Bouillotte or candlestick lamp featuring three candlesticks with brackets and a black tole shade with brass rim. The brass base has three foliate arms that extend from a fluted column stem mounted upon a dish-shaped base with ball feet.
Bouillotte is a gambling card game that gained popularity during the early days of the French Revolution, remaining so well into the 19th-century. Traditionally made of brass and placed at the center of a large round table, the Bouillotte lamp often featured a rounded base with four candlestick brackets, making this piece at once representative and unique.
