BC2C | Textile Roller as Lamp
Dusky rose and terracotta batik printing roller from turn of the century France, having since been converted to a lamp with custom cream linen shade. The surface of the base has a raised decorative motif featuring abstract floral shapes that in the original batik practice would have been transferred to cloth. Its cylindrical shape and unique texture give the piece a sculptural quality.
France, circa 1900
