





BD122 | BAROMETER IN STAND
Elegant brass barometer resting in a crescent-shaped mounted wood base from mid-19th century England. In fine working order, the piece features delicate hand-carved typeface lettering and a brass carrying ring.
Engraving on the back reveals how the piece was presented to Reverend James Middleton by the parishioners of Linlithgow in May, 1862, "in testimony of their appreciation of his services whilst officiating as assistant to the late Reverend Andrew Bell D.D.".
