Noted Antiquarian Spreads His Wings in the City of Angels
Los Angeles Antiques Showroom Opens on La Cienega Featuring a Stylish Mix of British and European 18th and 19th Century Antiques.
Los Angeles, CA, February 2004 - Lee Stanton, noted antiquarian and purveyor of exceptional antique furnishings for leading designers all over the country, opened his doors to a refreshing and stylish showroom on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles.
This long awaited move has the design community buzzing. From day one, the city's leading designers have been dashing into the new Lee Stanton showroom to acquire those timeless, one of a kind treasures that up until now they could only find at his shop in San Juan Capistrano.
"The response has been phenomenal. Although there were expectations, I think we took everyone by surprise, stated Stanton. "We are showing the same good quality and stylish antiques everyone has come to expect from us. But we took the liberty with our new showroom to push the envelope with a fresh, yet classic and sophisticated look."
"I wanted a unique and refreshing showroom that was serious yet not stuffy and consistent but not predictable", says Stanton.
Whether someone is searching for a special table, chair, lamp, mirror or just a special architectural element, Stanton is sure to have something fabulous and irresistible. Items include velum books, neoclassical bookshelves, comfy club chairs, trumeaus, desks, chests, dining room tables and exceptional antique decorative accessories. The collection is eclectic and stylish, yet timeless and classic.
Although he is a new kid on the block in Los Angeles, Stanton is not a newcomer. His shop in San Juan Capistrano has been a secret resource for many of the nations top designers for over ten years. He has been described as the designer's ultimate antiquarian... a purveyor and even an arbiter of style.
"After having a quaint shop that everyone always admired and thought was charming for over ten years, I wanted to spread my wings. Charming is good, but I wanted more", explains Stanton. Now he has the better of two worlds... a charming provincial shop in San Juan Capistrano that is more traditional in nature and a sophisticated showroom in the city that is more stylish and classic. "I feel very fortunate", admits Stanton. "This is something I have wanted to do for years. The timing was right and I found the perfect location in the heart of some of my favorite colleagues in business. I am surrounded by some of the finest and most provocative antique shops in the city. It is truly inspiring."
